This product is currently unavailable.

Did a member of your family fly an aircraft during WWII? Here is a replica of such an aircraft the team at HRD (Heritage, Research, Display) built for a customer for their Tribute page about No. 485 (NZ) Squadron on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/485nzraf?fref=ts . This was undertaken to generate a realistic representation, of the presentation spitfire “Mission Bay” W3577 as she was at Redhill in 1941.

We would be very happy to produce something like this for you. Please contact us and we can discuss the options available to you. https://www.hrd.nz/contact/

Here is a little more info supplied by the 485 Squadron page, who the model was constructed for, on this plane.

W3577 was a Presentation Spitfire named “Auckland II Mission Bay”. It was issued to 485 NZ Sqn on the 7/8/41.
While on a mission designated, Ramrod 17 on the 26/3/42 to Le Havre in the afternoon Mission Bay II engaged with enemy fighter aircraft and was reported missing after the air battle. Along with the aircraft, Pilot F/Sqt William M Kerbs was lost and killed after crashing on to a beach.
This 1/24 scale model is dedicated to all that flew in 485 during WWII and in particular to honour F/Sqt W M Kerbs who was killed, along with P/O Hal Thomas, the first to regularly fly W3577, and P/O David Clouston, who was the second to fly her as his regular aircraft.
