I am a Sydney trained professional model maker and currently a 3D art tutor
at Real People Mosaic. I like the challenge of representing 3D objects in miniature, with an almost unlimited material repertoire. In my 25 year career, I have made models that have been exported to the United States, France and England. I have also been involved in television commercial and film production. I was invited to construct a wine box for the Real People Mosaic Winebox Auction 2010 along with many other NZ artists.

Her is my Wine Boxes story…….

‘THE MK1 DALEK CHROICLES’

We would like to introduce you today to a rare and unique piece of
earth history from the dark regions of outer space from the planet
Skaro. The only one of its type ever produced ‘The Party DALEK
Mk1’.
In the late 60’s or early 70’s the beginning of the well documented
quest to enslave the earth the ruthless DALEK emperor called
for the development of new weapons to help them achieve
their goal. The Party DALEK was one of them, from their early
reconnaissance of earth the DALEKS soon learned of our keen
desire to socialise in groups (party) so a volunteer was called for
and the prototype was constructed and plans were made.
The DALEK was decorated in a bright colourful camouflage finish
that was thought to be appealing to humans and was to infiltrate
these group functions collecting data for the coming invasion of
earth, then destroy all the inferior beings to cover up their plans
and move on to the next party . (party on dude)
To start with the plan worked well the earthling party goers thought
it was a high tech prop organised by their hosts and loved it. BUT!
Something about the mesmerising primitive rhythms’ and the
fun electrically charged atmosphere not to mention certain other
substances sampled by the DALEKS sophisticated censor array
slowly confused its superior intelligence and it began having ‘fun
fun feelings’ ??????????
Not a DALEK concept (is there a ‘doctor in the house?)
So to cut a long story short this DALEK went from one party to
another having fun, discarding its ‘weapons of mass destruction’
for more useful tools in its quest for the ultimate PARTY!. It replaced its awesome suction cup for a styli acrylic hand to hold a
wine glass, and it electric shock gun for a fun and aesthetic display
laser and on the orange safety valves on its head it had painted I
love you (a true child of the 60’s)After many years of partying all over the world it ended up here
in ‘NZ’ but alas after so much fun its power source began to fail,
but with its superior intelligence it worked out red wine was the
perfect substitute (white at a pinch but it made it hard to start up
on those cold mornings) so two bottles of red must be carried
at all times to develop the power needed to party like he meant
it………………….!
Meanwhile back on Skaro after loosing contact with the Mk1 Party
model they gave up on the idea so this DALEK is unique and
has been lovingly restored with high tech plastics, constituted
fibre board, state of the art paint and some unnamed kitchen
equipment!

Please take care and only drink alcohol in moderation as taken in
excess it can result in ‘INTOXICATION’ which can then in turn lead
to our DALEKS previous intension ‘EXTERMINATION’
