This is a model of a 3 Masted Ship the Malta, which on the 29 December struck the Black Rock off St Helen’s, whilst on voyage from Cardiff to Lynmouth. All the crew were saved — she was floated off on 6 May. This unique Ship in bottle is beautifully constructed in the traditional style of the craft.It is a finely made model, the Malta with all plain sails set including a modelled blue ocean, complete with whitecaps and a buoy for her to sail past. Modelled in a Haig Scotish Whisky bottle 8 /4” long. These bottles are quite popular with constructors due to there triangular shape as they allow room for taller masts of some clipper style vessels. A lovely piece set to grace any study, library, office or holiday retreat.
