This is a beautifully detailed model made by the highly regarded maker Albatros has been long out of production. The SS Uganda passenger and general cargo vessel built by Barclay, Curle at Glasgow and completed in 1952 for British India’s service from London to East African ports. She was converted to an educational cruise ship at Hamburg in 1967 and then to a hospital ship at Gibraltar dockyard in 1982 for service in the South Atlantic. Converted again to a troop ship by Thornycroft at Southampton in 1983, she was employed transporting personnel from Ascension Island to Port Stanley. Laid up at Falmouth 1985, sold for breaking up in 1986.

Model is in good used condition, see the images, we have cleaned it as this collection was poorly stored by the previous owner. Approx. 134mm long or 5 1/4”
