This is a beautifully detailed model made by the highly regarded maker Carlo Marquardt has been long out of production. Caronia (II) Cunard Line 1949 An elegant liner built by John Brown & Co. on the Clyde and completed in 1949. Designed for North Atlantic service and also world cruising, she carried six 45 ft. launches for shore excursion passengers. She was initially nicknamed the “Green Goddess” after Liverpool’s green and white “Green Goddess” trams, and the nickname stuck. 34,274 gross tons with accommodation for 580 1st and 350 Cabin class passengers. She made her final Cunard voyage in November 1967, sold to Panama in 1968 as a cruise ship and renamed Columbia . Sold for scrapping in 1974, she was wrecked at Apra, Guam en-route to the breakers and broke into three pieces.
