This is a beautifully detailed model made by the highly regarded maker Degen has been long out of production. SS Strathaird Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Co. 19 48 Built by Vickers-Armstrong at Barrow and completed in 1932 for P&O’s London to Australia service via Bombay and Colombo. Served as a troopship during WWII, post-war she was reconditioned 1946-4 7 retaining only her centre funnel, unlike this model which is in original condition. Resumed on the Australian service in January 1948. She made her last voyage to Australia in 1961, broken up in Hong Kong 1967.

Model is in good condition, see the images, we have cleaned it as this collection was poorly stored by the previous owner. Approx. 165mm long or 6 1/2”
