This is a beautifully detailed model made by the highly regarded German maker Mercator has been long out of production. S.S. America had a long interesting history afloat see the Wikipedia entry below, we could restore this model to represent any of the listed uses in this article. Model is in fair used condition see the images, we have cleaned it as this collection was poorly stored by the previous owner. It is missing some of its derricks, her masts have been poorly reglued and deck may have been repainted. Approx. 175mm long or 7”
