This is a beautifully detailed model made by the highly regarded maker Carlo Marquardt has been long out of production. City of Port Elizabeth a passenger and general cargo liner built by Vickers-Armstrong at Newcastle and completed in 1952 for the company’s London – Cape Town – Beira service. She was 13,363 gross tons, a twin-screw motor vessel with a service speed of 16.5 knots, accommodation for 107 1st class passengers. Sold to a Greek owner in 1971 and renamed Mediterranean Island. Renamed Mediterranean Sun 1975, broken up in Taiwan 1980.

Model is in good used condition, see the images, we have cleaned it as this collection was poorly stored by the previous owner. Approx. 140mm long or 5 1/2”
