This is an early 3 draw leather clad field telescope by Broadhurst Clarkson & Co Ltd, possibly WW1 era.
It is in working condition with a 40mm visible diameter objective lens, which has been replaced by an optical engineer as it was missing when I got it, producing a clear image given its age.
The leather covered main barrel is in good condition with all its stitching intact but does not include the protective end caps.
Draw tubes have a smooth action with some denting see all the pictures for condition. Engraved ‘Broadhurst Clarkson & Co Ltd, 63 Farringdon Road, London E.C‘ on the first draw, it measures 10 1/4“ 260mm closed, 31” 787mm open with sunshade extended.
Nice to use, remembering the technology is around 100 years old! Or be part of a display you have at home military or otherwise, or part of your pirate or nautical décor, a nice piece of history.
