This set was issued just before the start of the Second World War and paints a somewhat glowing picture of life in the British services which we are sure many of those who took part in that conflict would dispute. The R.A.F for instance “offers all the advantages of a healthy, open-air existence”, the Royal Navy “security of employment, good pay and a varied and interesting life” and the Army “offers exceptional advantages such as foreign travel and liberal holidays. Well for many the foreign travel part was true, but the liberal holidays still awaited! These cards are all based on black and white photographs supplied by the War Department and were designed to show what a happy, active and rewarding life awaited recruits to the armed forces. Good clear pictures with comprehensive texts on the adhesive backs make this an interesting and historical set.

We protect all our maritime cards sets for sale in sleeves, so each set you buy comes housed in these sleeves, ready to put in your album or display in your own way. Useful to keep your part sets protected too while you work on completing them for your collection.

The BCW Pro 20-Pocket page/ sleeve is an acid free archival quality product that is perfect for storing 20 individual Tobacco Cards from your collection. This product features high-clarity polypropylene and top loading pockets with strong welds to display your cards so they can be viewed and kept archivally safe at the same time. BCW Pro20-Pocket pages fit most standard 3-ring binders and albums and are made in the USA.

Between 1875 and the 1940s, cigarette companies often included collectible cards with their packages of cigarettes. Cigarette card sets document popular culture from the turn of the century, often depicting the period’s actresses, costumes, and sports, as well as offering insights into mainstream humour and cultural norms.

Cigarette and trading cards from the early 1900’s – all our sets are featuring ships or a maritime theme. Not necessarily for the tobacco card collector, but for the nautical enthusiast. They can be shown in an album, or displayed on the wall in a frame, we can help with that if you wanted them mounted. Great in a bar setting, under glass as a counter display. Make a nice coffee table display under glass, would suit any maritime themed room of Bach. The possibilities are endless and they feature some excellent period graphics of ships and maritime items. Let your creative side out and create something different and enjoy these great pictures every day in your home.

We have a large selection of maritime themed cigarette cards (full sets) in various conditions we will be loading these as time goes on if you don’t see the set you are after please ask through the contact application on the website we may be able to help.
