‘Skipper’ Legends Chalkware Head Made in England

This wall head is marked Skipper, Made in England but the back has the wire loop used by Legend Products. This piece is one of the better detailed masks made by Legend it was designed by Fred Wright, who worked for Bossons (Legend competitors) for many years. This piece is most likely from 1973. There were two versions of Skipper. One has a white cap and this one with a dark cap. This piece is in good condition for its age and the fact that it is chalkware or gypsum plaster so easily chipped. The details are so fascinating – the teeth, hair, skin with pores and stubble, etc. The piece measures about 6” long. See all the images.
