RMS Moana was one of the Union Steam Ship Company’s fleet. Built in 1897 by Denny of Dombarton, Scotland, 3,915 grt, Length: 350.4 feet (106.8 metres); breadth 44.1 feet (13.4 metres). Propulsion: Steam triple expansion, speed 17 knots.
Passenger accommodation for 296. 1897-1898 purchased for the Trans Pacific service. After 1903 she was dispatched directly onto San Francisco, Vancouver routes. used till 1921, dismantled in Port Chalmers in 1927.
